Out of the Box

Someone, somewhere mentioned an Out of the Box challenge, which reminded me of one our local doll club, the Denver Doll Artisans did years ago. I thought I'd post my entry in to that challenge, since he's one of my favorite original dolls. I think I won "Best Interpretation of Theme" for him.
He was titled "Doesn't Follow Instructions" and was inspired by more than a few people I know. He's attempting to put himself together, and despite the clear instructions on the box, he just can't get it and is scratching his head in perplexity.
He's made of hand dyed cotton, quilting cotton fabric, beads and a recycled silk shirt.

Hey, I resemble that remark!
(he's great!)

What a delightful doll he is. No need for a verbal explanation - the head scratching pose makes it all clear.

This is very cool! I'd love a copy of the pattern to do for a challenge with my group! Most are beginners and have never made a cloth doll before so I thought it would be a good way for them to learn a little of the basics.

haha! that was me (the comment). I love him and his little scratching finger. Great interpretation of 'perplexed.'
