Commission Completed!

Woo hoo! I finished a commissioned doll that was very unusual for the types of work I normally do. It was fun to work outside my comfort realm. She is sort of a likeness or character of... guess who?

Roughly 10 inches tall. Polymer clay and apoxie sculpt (you can't see the apoxie sculpt--it's hiding). :]

She is just gorgeous. So much detail and personality in the face. So smooth for polymer clay - she looks like BJD. Are the eyes glass or painted or...?

It's Gillian! (Scully?) You definitely captured her likeness.

Scully! Great job..such incredible detail in her face.(You'll have to do a demo eventually to show us to how you are able to get the clay so smooth )!

Thank you :].

The eyes are glass. Paint is sort of my enemy, so I try to use it as little as possible. I love paint and the look of paint; we just don't get along. ;/

I will see if I can't take some pictures and write up some tips for creating smooth skin when I am next sculpting a head.

I made a shrine to Gillian Anderson all over my work table so I could try and get some of Scully's features (printed pictures laying everywhere). It helped, and also made me feel like an obsessed fan hehe.
